I have the season sets. Do you guys know how to take the voices out so I can rip the BGM? This is possible because I've seen people on YouTube do it. How do you do it?

Those people probably already had the bgm on cd (or whatever) and applied it to a soundless video.

No, trust me. There's a way how to do it since it's 5.1 stereo, and I know every single BGM in DB/Z/GT and they were unreleased.

You mean the dub music ? I know Faulconer has an old CD out. I dunno if that could help. I dunno much on the situation of ripping the BGM; good luck with that.

People remove the center channel, that's all. It doesn't work is there's any sort of directionality, but the FUNi mixes are kinda stiff so...you should be fine.

So when I put the DVD in my computer, in what program do I do it? And what do you mean the center channel? Can you please PM me or explain it here please?

The dialog will be contained in the center channel; remember those six channels? One of them is designated for the center - record everything except that. What program you use is up to you.

Keep in mind though, that you'll probably be recording the sound effects too, and the score isn't perfect - some songs are wrong or are missing parts, or are missing altogether.

Guy, have you done any research on this yourself? We'd love to help you, but it just seems like you've done nothing to help yourself. Check some forums or websites or wikis dedicated to digital video/audio, search Google, try and reason out what you need to do, and find programs that do that.

For this, you're just trying to get some audio, why not just use a program designed to record audio, and use the dvd playback as the source?

Ok, something weird is going on. When I put my DVDs in Media Center I get the music without voices. It automatically takes it out when I put it in English with original Japanese BGM, but when I put in Nero or Power DVD it has the voices and I don't know how to take it out. So I have no clue what to do or even to write to search in Google.

You need to have the DVD's ripped to your hard-drive in order to edit them.
You'll need a ripping utility, one which I can't link to here. Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

You do not have to rip the DVDs. Look, to put it simple, just get something like Cool Edit Pro (an audio editing program or whatever), and play the DVD, record the sound (look in your "master volume" (search control panel) on your computer and at "recording" mute everything except "stereo mix" and of course "recording" itself. Then record in your audio editing program and from there on out you're on your own, cause every program is different. But seriously it's not worth the trouble considering you usually loose some of the music as well and it sounds all distorted and all the soundeffects remain.

Tho trust me this is the fastest way.

It's also a great way to lose some of the original's quality. Super17, when I have some free time, hopefully this Sunday (work, work, work), I'll whip up a little guide and PM it to you. No guarantees on when though, I work 12 hours a day now and I'm pretty beat when I get home. I should have gone to college, huh?

I friend of mine has such a program (which I will not mention) that allows him to rip the BGM tracks from most DVDs. He's used it on some bootleg Dragon Ball DVD sets, and it works like a charm. It's just too bad that it won't work on FUNi's DBGT DVDs.

So, if you do some research, there is a program out there that you can download (for free).

I have a question, does it work on laptops? My nero showtime does take the dialogue out in my normal home pc, but not in my laptop, why is that?

Ok, so far I know what to do, I tried powerdvd or nero 7 premium and it does work, porblem is I can't record audio stream through my computer anymore, it records horribly. My laptop can record it good, but somehow in powerdvd or nero I dosen't filter the dialogue out, but in my regular computer it does? Why can't laptop work on it?
